  • Creatine and the bigger picture

    During high-intensity exercise, the body uses phosphocreatine to help regenerate ATP quickly. That is why creatine is so well known in sports nutrition.

    Human research

    A 4-week randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial (n = 48 healthy adults) investigated the effects of CreaSol® (500 mg/day) combined with a low dose of creatine (3 g/day, no loading phase) compared to creatine alone, tyrosol alone, and placebo.

    Key findings:

    5-RM Bench Press Performance:

    · The CreaSol® + Creatine group significantly increased 5-RM bench press repetitions by 20.8% (p < 0.001) and training volume by 25.5% (p < 0.001) from baseline.

    · The increase in repetitions was significantly greater than the Creatine-only group (p = 0.02), and the increase in training volume was also significantly greater than the Creatine-only group (p = 0.03).

    50% 1-RM Bench Press Performance:

    · The CreaSol® + Creatine group significantly increased training volume at 50% 1-RM by 18.8% (p = 0.002), with a trend toward increased repetitions (+12.4%, p = 0.052).

    · The increase in training volume was significantly greater than the Creatine-only group (p = 0.042).

    These findings demonstrate that combining CreaSol® with a low dose of creatine enhances high-intensity resistance training performance in a short period, with effects superior to creatine alone.

    Preclinical Support

    Animal studies support the synergistic effect:

    · In mice, CreaSol® + creatine improved grip strength by 28.1% and exhaustive swim time by 51.5% compared to creatine alone.

    · CreaSol® alone increased muscle strength by 31.0% and endurance by 195.0% after 4 weeks.

    · Even after just 7 days, CreaSol® improved strength by 9.6% and endurance by 20.8%.
